Finished on December 31, 2008, this instrument is a real modern-day departure from the usual large-body Gibson guitars that Jennifer has been painting for us. The body of the guitar is solid mahogany, and Explorer's radical design not only looks sharp, but also offers excellent playing balance. The pickups have been changed to '57 Classic humbuckers which Gibson uses in many of their ES-335 models. They translate the body's natural resonance into so many more tones than the stock pickups do. We even custom cut a clear pickguard for it, so Jennifer would have more room for the artwork. It features a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay, a Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, and Grover machine heads. Made in the USA. Includes Gibson hardshell case.
