Crash "Rose" Tele

A contemporary of Keith Haring, John "CRASH" Matos is a modern-day master of graffiti art and an artist well-known beyond New York since the 1970’s. He first garnered the attention of the guitar-art world after painting Eric Clapton's "Rainbow Strat", and continued on painting more Fender Stratocasters for not only Clapton, but for John Mayer and others. This guitar was painted for Glen Gertz in 2006 and it bears the artists' signature.

It was built by CJ Civitano who is the founder and senior partner at Raritan Bay Guitar. He used a Fender Custom USA Telecaster body and neck, and installed Joe Barden custom-wound pickups, which have long been established as some of the highest quality Telecaster pickups made.
