Glen L. Gertz - Creative Director & Head Honcho
Glen is a Dallas, Texas native. He has been involved in music and art all of his life. His grandmother was an accomplished pianist involved in opera and classical music and she introduced him to music in grade school. As a musician in the 60’s and 70’s he played with bands from Texas all the way to Boston. With accessibility to the music scene in the 70’s he took up photography and had the opportunity to photograph some top rock groups, while also pursuing art photography. In the mid 70’s he and a friend/partner opened a bar in Austin, Texas on 6th Street, next to one of the most famous blues clubs in Texas. In the years to come, through today, 6th Street has become the hot spot for Austin's music and nightlife. Looking to escape the “wild” lifestyle of the music and bar scene, Glen accepted an opportunity for the adventure of living and working in the South Pacific islands, where he lived for 15 years. In the new millennium Glen moved back to the states and found a home in Maplewood, New Jersey, 15 miles outside of New York city. He started GZ Guitars to build custom guitars for collectors and musicians. For more information about GZ Guitars, click on "our story" above.

In addition to his stable of Fender, Gibson, Martin, and PRS guitars, he currently has what may be the largest collection of Tom Anderson guitars, (Anderson makes some of the best electric guitars on the planet!).
Like GZ founder Glen Gertz, Bill is a native Texan. He grew up in El Paso and settled in Dallas in 1973, while at Southern Methodist University. He graduated with a degree in music - Classical Guitar Performance. Since the 1960’s Bill has peformed and continued to work with numerous bands professionally and semi-professionally. For the past 30 years he has maintained a corporate career in banking. Bill’s interests also include recording music. He has just completed the ProTools Career Program at ProMedia Training in Dallas, (December, 2009), and earned ProTools Operator Certifications in Music & Post.
He and Glen Gertz met at the Dallas Guitar Show back in 2006. They immediately connected due to their shared passion for custom guitars. When Glen approached Bill about a career change working for GZ Guitars, he immediately accepted.
Bill’s extensive experience is an invaluable asset to GZ Guitars, who are well known for their exclusive niche market in Art & Custom Guitars.
